I have recently illustrated and designed the artwork for the Winter Arts Market held every year at St Georges Hall Liverpool. Not only was it a great honour to be commissioned to create for this but also drawing crafty girls riding on lions is a lovely way to spend your time! The fair is a 2 day event hosted by Open Culture, it’s a great place to do your Christmas shopping and I can’t wait to take part!

I absolutely loved reading  The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern, so much so I had a little attempt at illustrating scenes and quotes from the book. Artwork for a competition I have entered. Based upon the Florence and the Machine song  ’Only If For A Night’. I am fast becoming obsessed with ‘Grey Gardens’ a 1975 documentary by the Maysles brothers. The all singing, all dancing Little Edie Beale Bouvier is astounding, hilarious, tragic, eccentric, sad, this is the best docu I have seen in years and has to be the most quotable ever.

“This is the best thing to wear for today, you understand. Because I don’t like women in skirts and the best thing is to wear pantyhose or some pants under a short skirt, I think. Then you have the pants under the skirt and then you can pull the stockings up over the pants underneath the skirt. And you can always take off the skirt and use it as a cape. So I think this is the best costume for today.” – Little Edie
Just writing about it makes me want to watch it again…
